ROCKWORKX M715 KAISER JEEP - SEMA Build
From Vietnam-era military workhorse to Rockworkx adventure rig!
Meet the Rockworkx M715 Kaiser Jeep, our 1967 Vietnam-era military truck, reimagined as a rolling showcase for the products, brands and people that are part of Rockworkx.
The Kaiser Jeep M715 was introduced in 1967 as a 1¼-ton military truck based on the civilian Jeep Gladiator. It represented a major change in military vehicle design, becoming the first U.S. tactical vehicle built primarily from civilian components. jeep

Our M715 was already substantially modified when it came into our possession, including a Cummins 12-valve diesel conversion and upgraded drivetrain. Since then, we've continued its transformation—restoring the body, rebuilding and refining systems throughout the truck, fabricating a new roll cage and top, adding 42-inch Mickey Thompson tires and equipping it with products we actually use, test and sell through Rockworkx.
The result is part restoration, part product-development vehicle and part old-school military truck, with plenty of personality left intact.
And we're not finished yet.
This M715 is the first of two vintage Jeep builds we're developing as part of the Rockworkx show fleet. The second, a 1961 Jeep FC-170 Forward Control, is currently under construction with plans for SEMA 2027.

RESTORING THE BODY
Getting the M715 ready for SEMA wasn't simply a matter of adding parts.
The body carried decades of use and multiple layers of paint, body damage and dents, including remnants of its original military finish. Much of that material was stripped away and substantial bodywork completed before the truck was refinished in its current custom light gray single-stage paint.
The custom light gray was intentional, a modern finish with a subtle nod to the M715's military heritage.
A special thanks goes to Eric and West Coast Auto Body Paint & Supplies who provided materials, high-build primer and a tremendous amount of advice and support throughout the body and paint work.
